Students assume the roles of delegates to the United Nations and debate current issues on the U.N.’s agenda. Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nation’s system. The club also sponsors an American Red Cross Blood Drive in the spring. The club sponsors the Rally Against Childhood Cancer, which is a fundraiser for St. The club meets on Wednesdays to plan activities and events. Medical Careers Club is an extra-curricular club for students interested in any aspect of the medical field. The Edwardsville High School Math Team’s purpose is to develop high-level math skills through inter-scholastic competitions for advanced students. Mollie Easley, Ashley Walsh, Chelsey Richter, John Meinzen We meet once a week after school on Mondays from August to May. Students at EHS submit their works of fiction, poetry or essays to the LitMag staff or their English teacher, and our goal is to choose the works that best represent the diversity of the students at EHS and publish them in a magazine. “Write something!” The Literary Magazine staff encourages all students to exercise their creative writing skills and write. Activities vary from year to year, but one of the responsibilities for German Honor Society members is to provide tutoring for lower level students. Students who have completed five semesters of German and meet the grading standards in German and overall GPA may join the German Honor Society. The German club offers opportunity to broaden the knowledge and culture and language through celebrations such as the Oktoberfest, sampling German cuisine at German restaurants and excursions to exhibits/concerts that reflect the German culture. Students are selected for membership during second semester of they junior year according to their GPA and commitment to the propagation of the French language and its culture. The aim of this organization is to stimulate interest in the study of French, to create enthusiasm for and understanding of Francophone culture and civilization, to promote and perpetuate international friendship efforts toward furthering solidarity in the French speaking world.
We currently have approximately 70 members. This is the first year for the society at EHS. NEHS will serve the school and community through events and service projects that promote an interest in English. This is a group led by students who share a passion for English and Literature. Some additional activities include: movies, cooking contests, t-shirt decorating, French food sampling, participation in the French Follies variety show, and much more. It strives to expand personal experience with French culture and language by celebrating holidays à la française such as Noel, Mardi Gras, National French Week, and more. The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.įrench club is open to all students. The FFA is a National Organization designed to educate students in the many different careers in agriculture (Agri-business, Agri-Science, Horticulture, Landscaping and Veterinary Sciences). We meet every other week throughout the school year. Students are encouraged to suggest topics for discussion. Students are given background material when they arrive so that every student has some data from which to draw opinions and questions. This club features a round-table discussion of a current event. The Edwardsville High School Computer Team’s purpose is to develop high level computer skills through projects and robotics within the school as well as inter-scholastic competitions. Community service and social activities are also a part of BPA. We compete at state and national levels in finance, administrative, and technology events. For students who plan to follow a career in a business field, BPA offers many opportunities and advantages.
